A tool for designing optimal site-directed mutagenesis primers

MutPRIME is a web-based program designed to automate the design of mutagenic PCR primers for site-directed mutagenesis.

Site-directed mutagenesis is accomplished by PCR amplification using mutagenic oligonucleotide primers that already incorporate the desired mutation. MutPRIME is designed to help you with this task.

MutPRIME to generate mutagenic primers to perform DNA based site-directed mutagenesis and Protein based site-directed mutagenesis, it requires nucleotide sequences and mutation information. MutPRIME will generate a list of all possible primer pairs that encode your desired mutation, and follow a set of restrictions that you provide on optional basis.

Users are also given control over variables such as GC content, melting temperature, the length of primer. Furthermore, it can automatically generate primers for four commercially available mutagenesis protocols: the QuikChange™ and ExSite™ Site-Directed Mutagenesis Kits by Stratagene®; the GeneTailor™ Site-Directed Mutagenesis System by Invitrogen™, and Platinum Super fi.
